“Technical issues”. Watch Trump and Iran spin this to blame each other.

Weird how the local media determined the cause of the crash right after it happened.
Iran’s version of the FAA must be really good.

There might be radio calls or something, reports of problems. AA missiles can be a real problem.

Shortly after takeoff makes it less likely either side shot it down, but being on fire is a pretty extreme (though certainly not impossible) technical issue:

Safety issues aside, it really doesn’t seem like a good time to be running commercial flights in the area.

It is never just one thing that causes an aircraft to go down. They are so well designed. The Ukraine 737 that crashed has not been subject to the parts embargo that all Iranian aircraft have. The Ukraine has been at war with Russia for a while now. I do not know enough to even guess what happened.

Iranian sabotage on behalf of the Russians?

Also, sometimes planes just crash without any relationship at all to geopolitical events. Wi th over 1,200 737s in the air at all times around the world, there’s going to be a crash once in a while from one cause or another.
